“INKING IS MEDITATION IN LIQUID FORM...”

J.H. EVERETT

Throughout my career, illustration has always been one of my favourite techniques - detail, imagination and technique absolutely fascinate me. In recent years I have been working essentially as a graphic designer and illustrator and I continue to feel, with the same strength and certainty as always, that painting is inseparable from my identity.

Like all my artwork, illustration oscillates between two poles: the figurative/decipherable and the abstract/subjective. There are layers of meaning to be interpreted by each observer and realities built so equal or distant from their primordial essence. But with more or less colors, more or less complexity, more or less mundane themes, everything derives from a dialogue between the unconscious and the visible reality, in an experience embodied through techniques and materials. When I transpose something to the Other this is, indisputably and indelibly, a part of my Self.
